Evidence of the Soul Patrol Spreading the Globe

Katharine McPhee's fans may be hot with McPheever, but Taylor Hicks' fans are beginning to spread the globe like wildfire.

Evidence of Taylor Hicks' global appeal is becoming more prevalent. In an article written by Mike Brantely with al.com his research lead to these comments from folks far and abroad:

"The Taylor Hicks soul thing is no longer a Birmingham, Gulf Shores or Alabama thing," said Bonnie Latino, an Atmore-based Soul Patrol member in Alabama.
Latino said the gray-haired vocalist's emerging global fan base became very evident to her on Friday, May 12, during Hicks' "American Idol" hometown visit. Fans from all over the United States, as well as Brazil, England and Norway, displayed signs of support at an appearance and "mini-concert" by Hicks at the Riverchase Galleria shopping mall in Hoover, the city where the singer attended high school."

"Srbo Galic, a 34-year-old amateur musican in Serbia, shared a Soul Patrol experience in an e-mail exchange. Galic described how he played his harmonica recently while sitting on a park bench in his "once beautiful city of Belgrade."
He noticed a nearby gathering of two young women and a young man who were singing and playing a guitar beneath a tree Galic began to play "A Change is Gonna Come," which was Hicks' first "American Idol" audition song. Galic joined in an improptu jam session with the group."

"Karen Coles, an editor/proofreader in Wellingborough, U.K., loves Hicks' music, certainly, but she also is grateful for all the friends she has made through her Soul Patrol activity on the Internet.
"His amazing voice and personality shine through the airwaves," Coles wrote about Hicks in an e-mail. "I am grateful for joining the Soul Patrol. I have discovered an amazing person. Thanks to Taylor, I've made hundreds of new friends, literally across the world."
One of those friends Coles met online is Catherine Viart, a teacher from France. Viart, who lives in Dhaka, Bangladesh, said in an e-mail that she's a Hicks fan because of the singer's voice and personality.
"He's fun to watch," Viart wrote, "and he also makes me cry sometimes. He makes me feel strong and think good things are possible. Really, he is magic."

Magic, definitely.

Groove on Soulman!
