The Beatles George Harrison’s “Something” shows more clearly than any other song in the Beatles canon that there were three great songwriters in the band rather than just two. Harrison wrote the song during a break from the ‘White Album’ sessions in 1968 and initially hoped soul legend Ray Charles would record it. This is the new rumored song choice, or at least one of them for Hicks to perform tonight. Click title to give it a listen.
This garnered off the AI Boards this a.m.
Paris Bennett -- "Kiss" by Prince (Tom Jones in 1988) and "Be Without You" by Mary J. Blige.
Katharine McPhee -- "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins and "Black Horse and Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall
Taylor Hicks -- "Play that Funky Music" by Wild Cherry and "Something" by the Beatles (George Harrison wrote this one)
Elliot Yamin -- "On Broadway" by George Benson and "Home" by Micheal Buble
Chris Daughtry -- "Renegade" by Styx and "I Dare You" by Shinedown
Damn, Shinedown's one of my favorite hardcore rock bands when I feel like getting 'randy'. But can Chris really pull a Brent Smith? Well actually he probably can since he already sounds like him anyway...you know, typical rocker vocals.
