The Last Ones Standing: Top Twelve American Idols Season 7

American Idol makes such a big deal out of the contestants making it into the Top Twelve, like that's going to win them an award. I think a big deal is made just because it sounds good, nice even dozen. One important show is the Top Ten. That show sends those Striving for Stardom onto the Summer Pop-tart Tour. The producers are obviously still smarting over last season's Tour bomb that rumbled across America, plans in the making to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Anyone hear much about last year's Top Ten now?

American Idol Top Twelve, for whatever that's worth:
Amanda Overmyer
Kristy Lee Cook
Brooke White
Syesha Mercado
Ramiele Mulabay
Carly Smithson Hennessey

David Archuleta
David Cook
David Hernandez
Jason Castro
Chikezie Eze
Michael Johns

Who will be the lucky Poptarts to join the Summer's Pop-Tart Fest?
This sounds about right:
David Archuleta (D'oh)
David Cook (they need a rocker guy)
Michael (Lee) Johns (to draw the more 'mature' crowd)
Jason Castro
Chikezie Eze

Carly (Hennessey) Smithson
Syesha Mercado
Brooke White
Amanda Overmyer (So she and Cook can do a rock number together.)
Ramiele Mulabay

The Cheese-Fest marches on, and my boy's still going strong. (Castro had some of the highest voting totals this week out of everyone in the show.) Check out the MyIdol website and his numbers for posts are phenomenal. Haven't seen numbers like that since... Taylor Hicks season five. Interesting. Checking the stats right now under Top 12, Jason's holding over 311,000 posts compared to say, Archuleta who's listed at about 140,000. Michael Johns has about 68,000. That silly, crazy board has always been an indicator of how this show's going to flow. Looking very promising for Jason Castro.
I'll end this post with another Jason Castro video: "Clumsy" performed at his church in Rockwall, Texas:

  2. Side note: Error corrected, 'Anonymous'. I am not sure what I was thinking regarding Sligh, perhaps it was because he should have finished higher in the ranking, but I did somehow forget he did make tour. Errors are not throughout the blog, as you say, but yes, I messed up with that one. True. I'll go sit in the corner now.
