With a Banjo on Hicks' Knee

Taylor Hicks provides an interview with a local station - by local I'm talking New York City - Interview CW11 - to talk "Grease" and his related 'activities'. This video shows a clip of Hicks doing the dance with the cast. Man, I had to rewind that a few times. Nice moves in that glitter suit Soulman... About 2:03 into the vid cast. I may have to rethink a few things regarding this guy.

Definitely Hicks is a good interview. He's affable, slightly spastic in an endearing manner and obviously wants to interact within the on-air format. That brings me to fan interaction and communication. It's coming down in an overall seeming consensus the main obstacle this guy's facing is a...

Seems the only way he's eager to talk and share is when he's on-air. You know, promoting his material and his livelihood to the lady newscasters... Ack I did GO there...

I think I'm in the minority on the communication debate. My opinion, the camera has been up his rectum just a little too much and that keeping some mystery and distance is probably best, at least until the CD drops. Keep them craving more. I do think though that his official site should be more current. We get the the most up-to-date news from his fan-owned sites. That shouldn't be the case.

  2. Bo Bice has that same complaint regarding his site. bonafidebice.com always had the most information and news on Bo, his official site seemed to be caught napping - often.

That's changed up somewhat with Bo stepping up the communications. It's been helpful for him.

I'm not saying that Hicks should start working the homemade video route, but it would not hurt to have the "hired help" step it up. lol
