Can't Give Them Away?

What's this talk about Taylor Hicks unable to sell enough tickets to The Roxy to make it a viable concert? Word out there were so many seats left the venue decided to go the give them away approach and just charge service fees. Word out, even after the seats hit the 'just service fee' mark there is still availability. I guess the Soul Patrol is scarce on the "Left" Coast.

Naturally TMZ.com has to jump into the shark frenzy machine and add insult to injury with their take on this event. Their take, "It's not a charity show, it's not a fundraiser ... Taylor Hicks concert tickets have now been reduced to a whopping $0.00 -- and it still hasn't sold out."

Bah, they have never liked Hicks much anyway. Folks on this off site TMZ.com take are trying to voice a positive opinion. CLICK for positivity. Better luck in San Francisco Mr. Hicks, IDOL BLUES gets multiple hits everyday from around the Golden Gate area.

Sunny, Saw that, don't know quite what to make of it. TMZ to me is just a rag magazine, they seem to pick up stuff and twist it for their own agenda. I thought I had read over in the Soul Lounge that the sales for the Roxy had been good. It would be interesting to know if it is true how many tickets they are talking about.

TMZ is such a Rag I never go there. Too bad there are a few people out there who didn't get the message that Taylor isn't the whipping boy any more. Sometimes I think it would have been better for him to have come in 2nd or 3rd like Elliott. I haven't heard anyone bashing Elliott.

  3. OK, I went to goldstar dot com, the site that supposedly is offering tickets for free. It says the cost of tickets is $36.50 and the show is sold out.

Caryl, Thanks for posting that. didn't even think to go to goldstar. Like I said I had read that the sales were good at the Roxy. I just don't get all this negative stuff thrown his way, he just doesn't deserve it. I did read some first week record sales Kelly sold 254,000 and it said Taylor less than 10,500 don't know if the numbers are accurate, hope they are wrong for Taylor.

  5. Thanks, Caryl, just TMZ trying to get hits at Hicks expense: the usual. Bah on TMZ.com.

Jerseyirish don't compare Taylor with Kelly. A lot of big name arists don't even sell the kind of quantities she pulls in. Better to compare him to other Indie artists. I think he'll be ok he's working real hard and he's got a paying job and that's more than a lot of folks right now. LOL.

  7. It's discouraging finding the continual comparisons between Taylor and other Idols and the media ready to say how unsuccessful he is.

    Good points Dee.
