Taylor Hicks Nings the Soul Patrol

Taylor Hicks gives the Soul Patrol - and those other fans some face time. Face time via a live webcast, chat allowing the fans to ask him questions hoping for a real answer or two. Hoping the key as while he did answer a few odd questions, for the most part fans left still questioning.

I missed the original webcast as was out doing what I do in the Big Real, but many fans had time to tune in.

I've read several folks talking about Taylor Hicks' lip smacking while he webcasts. My Pops does the same thing when he speaks, it's a nervous habit of sorts that occurs when Pops is in a social situation with folks he's not familiar.

That said, for anyone critiquing Mr. Hicks' webcast form on his Ning site, let's talk participants' questions. Seriously folks, it's been snowing buckets, hell, truckloads throughout the Northeast and Eastern U.S. How in Hell can the man golf in snow? Oh wait, perhaps like this:

Then there was the posing in PlayGirl question. C'Mon people, can you really imagine Taylor Hicks sitting about like this?

Seriously? Hilarious and, well, let's not...

Taylor Hicks was in his usual rather cagey form, not letting out anything about plans that he may have for the future after "Grease". He's talked about one of his songs off The Distance, "Maybe You Should" being destined for recording by a mystery artist - for months. Thing is, on the ning-cast he sounds as if well, perhaps it's not already a done deal, that several folks might be interested, or perhaps his 'people' are simply still shopping out the song. Or perhaps he'd just like someone to do the tune and no one has actually stepped forward to sign on the line.

I'm speculating that if he had someone with an already established name take that tune, which by the way, one of the good ones off The Distance; he'd make more off of it than if he released it. Too if he did try to release it himself, the song did not get play on the radio - no one would pick it up and the tune a bit wasted regarding potential. It's simple math and common sense.
Maybe You Should

Oh and another thing, I've decided to reopen IDOL BLUES.

The questions sucked. Next time the gals should get organized and come up with the best questions from the group. How can I sleep knowing he has no pots and pans or tupperware? These chats do give some insight into Taylor, the guy, instead of just T.H. American Idol winner, so it is all good. rosie

Glad you're open again Sun. I thought the chat was fun. Sounded like he has a lot of balls in the air ( No Pun intended..... OK Pun intended. LOL. ) for future plans so that's always a good sign. I'll have to listen again but seemed to me he sounded little more sure the song would get recorded. When a song is put on hold that does put it in limbo for a time so I guess we will see. If one person was interested and doesn't end up taking it I'm sure there will be others interested. I really like the song and would love for it to get a wide radio audience.

  3. I agree the 'Playgirl' and the 'would he ever date twins' questions were ridiculous. Having said that, I was there for most of the chat and found it hard to come up with a good question. But I still thought it was fun.

I started lurking online here and there again coz my life has gotten so crazy I need an escape! We're moving to Calgary, Canada in a few months. I've been spending all my time getting our house ready to sell and working out the details of where we'll live and what my sons will do. I haven't had time to do any writing but I think once I'm up there I won't have anything ELSE to do. ha.

Good to see you, Sunny. It's been a while.

  4. The twins comment was silly too, I agree, Caryl. He likely was thinking, man what are these women fantasizing about? (and hoping whoever asked that wasn't a 60 yr old twin... lol )

I think you may be pleasantly surprised with life in Calgary. It's exciting to think of relocating someplace so vastly different from where you've been.

Good to see you too, although my sympathies on the moving; we too are cleaning out and clearing out our home, there's a chance it seems we may be relocating as well. Might as well start now with the prep work.

Hey Sunny, glad to see Idol Blues has re-opened. I remember it from back in the day when it was all blue:) Was a great site!

Some of those questions are so laughable. Couldn't listen to it so appreciate the highlights.

That Taylor, what are we going to do with him, LOL. Maybe he shouldn't bring stuff up (MYS) if he's not sure of it actually panning out. Oh well, I will love him always, regardless, and *trite expression alert* I look forward to what seeing what the future holds.

Hey Sunny, Glad your back in business here for awhile, always enjoy your posts.

Thought the chat was fun just a cool way for him to talk about whatever. Myself don't look for any information just some tid bits that he can release, nor would I hold him to anything he says, just open convo. Some of the questions were a bit off but he seemed to enjoy answering what he could. I really don't think he can talk about what we all would really like to know, whats confirmed after Grease, when the time is right he will let all know.
