IDOL BLUES to Close Shop

Taylor Hicks I will bid thee farewell. Not in real life of course, rather on this blog. I am proud that this was one of the first blogs put together to focus on Hicks during his 2006 bid and win for the reality show, American Idol crown. Albeit put together by someone with quite limited experience on the web or with blogging or putting up a website...

And really it's not that momentus or stunning news considering the few posts that have been created here this year. It's just time to end this, move on with my other projects. I am still puttering around with an anniversary edition post to give this blog its final send off. It should be a good one.

I'm not surprised at all. Not much to blog about these days in Taylor Hicks world. This was one of best Taylor Hicks blogs. Always funny and honest. Thanks for the laughs and memories!

Sunny, I will truely miss your blog. You have always welcomed my comments and I thank you for that. I realize many things have changed around the fan base and it is time for you to move on. It is a shame the way things have gone, but maybe it was there all along and I just never saw it.

You have always been fair to your posters, which is always appreciated. You have a gift for writing and getting your point across well.

I wish you luck in your next adventure, let us know if you open a new music blog.

    Take Care,

    JI

Sunny, I didn't know you were one of the first to start a blog about Hicks. You were the first blog I read and posted on. Are you still going to have your other site? Thanks for being my friend, and being so honest. rosie

  5. You have too much talent to spend time here. I'm surprised to hear you say that you didn't have much experience with blogging when you started this one because you did such a great job. I remember asking you a few questions about blogs here and there when I was starting mine up.

I have a lot of affection for you. You were a part of this whole TH experience that I'll remember fondly. I've been pulled away the last few months by bigger issues but I'll see you on twitter!

Best of luck! I mean it.

  6. Thanks to all of you for the comments. I'll be seeing you around on Twitter and likely will hang on to the Spinshack site. All of you mean something special to me in your own unique ways.

Yes Rosie-posie I was once the epitome of Hicks' Fangurl. lol Right after I saw his audition I opened this site. His difference what caught my attention; the spazz dancing, all that. I sensed, while watching him sing "Swannee River" (audition second song), he was fiercely determined to win the show. In doing THAT song he developed the whole Gray Charles schtick image. It worked. He still remains one of the most interesting Idol contestants to win the show.

I wish him all the best.
