It's understandable now why the show did not feature this footage during the 2006 season. He'd have been even more of a runaway frieght train.
Taylor Hicks delivering "Ain't No Sunshine"
That expression at the end of this performance what I use to watch for every week. He was so fierce. Taylor Hicks certainly created a real blue print on how to win the karaoke music reality show. He done it, won it in big style.
Check this, NPR lists Taylor Hicks in their "Decade Defined" section: Scroll down the page and listen.
Good job, Mr. Hicks.

Sunny, Amazing performance, the look at the end tells it all.

I think that's what fans call the "zodiac killer" look. It was most prominant after Taking it to the Streets,
ReplyDeleteYes you are right. It was very famous after taking it to the streets. I am a huge fan of music. Music is my passion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments ladies. That look says so much about the man. He had it when he auditioned as well; a certain strength and drive not often seen.
ReplyDeleteHe did have guts to keep going after looking around and feeling so out of place with all the teeny boppers. He had no one there for him. He was all on is own until later when some of his family and friends could make it to the actual shows. I would love to have been privy to some of the discussions he had with family and friends during that time. I loved reading in his book about his Dad saying he should just buy a lottery ticket when Taylor told him he was trying out for Idol. LOL. I try to remember as a parent, to not to squash a kid's dreams. It's so easy to be too realistic and practical and ignore that sometimes lightening does strike and dreams come true. I wish he'd tell that story more often in interviews because it's a classic.
